SAN VINCENZO ROMANO: THE HOLY OF TORRE!
Torre del Greco has its own saint. A good priest, a parish priest for everyone, for people and among people. Anticipatore of the outgoing Church, his maxim was “doing good well”: A pupil of St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, St. Vincent spent the people of Torrese, in a troubled and difficult period of revolutions, restorations and natural events catastrophic.
Son of peasants from whom he inherited the ability to roll up his sleeves and get to work (Lu prevurate laborer), opened a school for the poorest, dedicated himself to needy people who insisted on imparting “culture”, as well as helping materially the most desperate.
Paul VI made him Blessed on November 17, 1963, Pope Francis proclaimed him Saint (along with Paul VI) on October 14, 2018.
